HOW TO SILAGE FRESH CORN STALKS?

In order to reduce the loss, the cut fresh corn stalks must be incubated immediately, then cut the stalks into small pieces about 2-3cm long, and then mix additives that can be 0.5 % salt or 5% molasses (compared to the weight of corn incubated) put in plastic bags to absorb all the air (can take advantage of milking machines) and compactly, each bag is incubated about 10-30kg.

Salt-incubated corn is usually yellow-green, sour, while molasses is brownish - yellow in color, slightly sour, accompanied by the sweet smell of molasses. In addition, it can be incubated with formic acid (restricts mold) silage corn has a yellow-green color, slightly sour, very palatable to cows.

CORN SILAGE FOR ANIMAL FEEDING:

Corn silage is used for feeding all dairy cattle on the farm: growing animals, dry cows, and lactating cows. It must be supplemented with protein, minerals, and sometimes energy to meet the animal's nutrient requirements. Although corn silage is occasionally used as the only forage for dairy cattle, it is usually fed with a complimentary forage such as alfalfa which is higher in crude protein but lower in energy. Corn silage feeding strategies vary depending on animal age, level of production, and physiological status as well as the other forages being fed, if any. Because of its high grain content, feeding strategy for corn silage fed to high producing cows differs from most other forages.

PROTEIN:

Corn silage is used to feed all Dairy Cattle on the farm: Growing Animals, Dry Cows, and Lactation Cows. It can be supplemented with protein, minerals, and sometimes energy to satisfy the animal's nutrient requirements. Although silage is sometimes used as the only forage for cattle milk, it is often eaten with a free forage such as alfalfa which is higher in crude protein.

USAGES:

Corn silage is a high-quality forage of crop used on almost every dairy farm and some beef cattle farms worldwide. Its popularity is due to the high amount yielding of a very digestible, best quality energy crop. The ease of adapting it to mechanized harvesting and feeding is another plus point for this crop. Corn Silage is one of the popular forages used for animal feed because of its digestibility and high energy. Many of the characteristics of corn silage make it attractive for many livestock producers.

Corn Silage is an excellent forage for dairy cows because of its high energy and adequate fiber. Corn for silage fits ideally in the category of no-till and double-cropping. The silage-making process object is to preserve the harvested crop by anaerobic procedure without oxygen fermentation. This process uses bacterial components to convert soluble carbohydrates into acetic acid and lactic acid, which “preserve” the crop, in a well-sealed silo. It can be stored for long periods without compromising quality.

ADDING INFORMATION:

Corn silage has a high-quality fiber content and high-energy density. It’s one of the most economical forages producers can grow based on yield and energy value. It’s also one of the easier forages to ensile. To maximize forage quality, corn should be harvested at the right maturity and dry matter content. In addition, the right cutting height, chop length and kernel processing decisions are critical to yield and quality of the resulting silage.

We offers high-quality silage products designed to enhance the health & performance of dairy cows which improve digestibility to help increase milk production of dairy cows.

The entire corn plant at 60-75 days interval, typically harvested at a whole plant moisture content of 65-70%. We use of pineapple waste as additive to ensilage. Up to 50% of the dry matter of corn silage is grain corn. Was collected and chopped into 2-3 cm. Lengths and mixed with different level of pineapple waste.
